It’s time to build a Texas that reflects all of us. We’re investing in Black-led Texas-based organizations engaging in civic engagement across the state to create the change we deserve.
From Fort Worth to Beaumont. From Fort Hood to Houston.
Texas has the second highest number of Black voters in the United States. Yet there are very few black-led organizations in Texas. The Texas Black Action Fund provides direct capacity building and resources to smaller Black-led, Texas-based organizations engaging in civic engagement across the state. We believe by investing in smaller organizations on the ground on issues communities care about, builds lasting change in Texas.
Build Capacity
We identify current organizations and their funding gaps in advocacy work and we help fill those gaps through on-the-ground resources.
Identify Opportunity Programs
Through research and data collection we identify key geographic areas where grassroots efforts are needed and support the organizations directly on the ground.
Build InfrastructurE
We provide leadership development and build funding partnerships with existing and new organizations engaging Black communities. We create opportunities for cross-regional learning and training for organizations across the state.
